Dear *|firstname|*,

Last month we turned *15 years old* (!) and to celebrate we held a huge party in London. There was ping pong, pool, bowling, dodgems, arcade games, an open bar and a great spread that included 3 fantastic cakes (thank you Mark & Leslie!) and more sweets than I think it should be legal to mail order! They say a picture tells a thousand words, so here's a few:

Krystal Event

Thank you to all those who gave up their time and came to celebrate with us. It was great to put faces to names and get to know you a little better. For those of you that couldn't make it this year, don't worry, we're not going anywhere, so we'll see you at the next one! A MASSIVE THANK YOU to Emma for organising such a great event and best wishes to her and the baby as she heads off (temporarily!) on an exciting new journey as a mother.

Throughout the evening I was touched to hear how much people really care about Krystal, what we do and how we do it. I don't take as much time as I should to reflect on what we've accomplished (a common problem I'm sure as there's always "what's next?") but I thought a milestone like this deserved some time for introspection and contemplation.

For those of you that don't know, Krystal was founded on a trampoline by myself and a school friend. We were frustrated by large faceless providers who overcharged and didn't care. We thought we could do a better job so founded a company. The name "Crystal" was chosen to reflect transparency (honesty), value and desirability. It was spelled with a "K" to help distinguish us in search engines.

Today we have 24 staff, over 21,000 clients, operate out of 3 UK datacentres and are number 1 for customer satisfaction on TrustPilot. We've refreshed our servers and network numerous times to ensure that we're always using the latest and fastest technologies but our core values and ethos haven't changed over the last 15 years.

The HOW of what we do might have changed, but the WHY hasn't.

Our first slogan was "Honest, Reliable, Personal" and you'll still see that on the site today. We don't offshore. We like to keep everything in the UK, whether that's our brilliant support team, in-house developers or the datacentres themselves. We take pride in doing things differently and because we don't focus on profit we're a very hard act to follow.

I'd like to think that this quality-first approach has been integral to our success. We are now the largest independent hosting company in the UK according to Netcraft, and while many of our peers have been acquired by GoDaddy, we're still fiercely independent and are not selling.

The Future
Well, enough reminiscing, back to the future! (Great Scott!).

Here are some things happening at Krystal;
NVMe disk trials - Standard SSD's are great but NVMe is even faster, so we're now testing this cutting edge technology.
A.I. chatbot assistant (don't worry, we're keeping our staff and you'll always be able to talk to a human)
New bespoke VPS platform - With a fully revamped storage architecture built for speed, flexibility and reliability.
More support staff - We currently have a number of UK support roles available, please come work with us!
ONYX - We have created a bespoke managed WordPress hosting platform called "Onyx" that is now ready for you to try. Currently in Alpha phase, we're giving all Krystal customers the chance to try our new and exciting hosting platform for free...

I would like to say thank you to everyone reading this for being part of our journey. Even though we've been going 15 years it genuinely feels like we're just getting started and the most exciting times are ahead of us. I'm glad that you'll be with us to experience them.

Kind regards,

Simon Blackler - CEO, Krystal Hosting
