We’re looking for a senior software engineer to join us to work on our new cloud hosting platform. Koru is a new revolutionary approach to deploying and managing websites which has been devised by our own in-house software team. We’re looking to find an enthusiastic and knowledgeable engineer to join us to work on this platform.

Koru is built on a combination of technologies including Go and Ruby. We’re currently looking for someone with good experience with Go to work on our core backend which handles actually provisioning and managing websites

Here’s a bit of an overview of the platform and the technologies we’re working with:

• Ruby & Rails - which sits at the heart of the platform and provides much of the user interface and public facing functionality.


• Go - each node which provides services runs a service written entirely in Go which handles the provisioning of services. This talks directly to the core using an internal GRPC API.


• Linux containers - dynamic components of websites are run within isolated containers on each node.


• Linux - all our servers run Linux (usually Ubuntu).


• Prometheus - we use this for collecting and storing key metrics for the whole platform.


• Fluentd, ElasticSearch & Greylog - we use these for centralised logging and reporting.


• Plus other tools like nginx, Caddy, Litespeed WS, ZFS, Terraform, MariaDB, InfluxDB, Redis and OpenTelemetry.
